Digicel launches Christmas promotion

Telecommunications provider Digicel will, during the 2015 Yuletide season, give away over EC$150,000 in cash and prizes as part of their Christmas promotion called ‘The More the Merrier with Digicel’.

The promotion, which will cater to persons in St Vincent and the Grenadines, was launched last Friday, November 20 at The Cell on Halifax Street. It ends on Christmas Eve, December 24.{{more}}

Explaining the promotion, country manager at Digicel John Gidharry said that by the end of the promotion, customers would have taken home $150,000 in cash and prizes.

He said that there will be three daily random winners who will be announced on X-Treme FM. Two of them will receive EC$1,000 each (cash and prizes) at 8 a.m. and 12 noon, while the company will grant one Christmas wish live on air at 5 p.m.

Daily prizes also include handset discounts, credit and data plans, while five random persons will each win EC$5,000 on December 24.

Customers are entered in random draws to win prizes when they top up $10 or more, pay their bill in full and on time, sign up for a two-day 4G data plan or higher, purchase a 4G smartphone or join the Digicel family. Customers can also text WISH to 1130 to make their Christmas wish.

One person will have their Christmas wish granted every day for a total of five winners per week. The total value of the wish cannot exceed EC$2,000. There will also be daily and weekly draws which will take place at the corporate office and The Cell (flagship store).

All forms of top up, including online top up and top up received from the retail diaspora (top of US$20 or more from overseas) are eligible for the Digicel Christmas Promotion, while ‘Credit U’ transfer is not considered as a top up.

Speaking at the launch, Digicel’s public relations manager for the OECS Jerry George said that from inception, Digicel has always created excitement when it comes to Christmas and, “there is nothing that supersedes a Digicel Christmas.”

Also commenting, country manager John Gidharry noted that the company always prides itself on fantastic Christmas promotions.

“Over 200 potential and existing customers will win”, said Gidharry.
