If you want our 12-year plan, ask Ralph – PM

Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines and leader of the ruling Unity Labour Party (ULP) Dr Ralph Gonsalves has assured Vincentians that in the event of his untimely passing, the plans he has for the development of St Vincent and the Grenadines are already written down and would be carried out by the members of his party.

“They have asked Ralph ‘suppose Ralph drop down dead what go happen’, but you see Ralph has the plan written down{{more}} so even if Ralph is not here, if Ralph as I am speaking to you now, is struck down, and I am taken with my ancestors and placed in the earth in my village, the plan remains because the plan is written down and the spirit with which this plan has been put in place, it will be carried out by all the members of the Unity Labour Party and you will ensure these plans are carried out.”

The Prime Minister said that during a conversation with candidate for the Southern Grenadines Edwin Snagg they discussed how men in the Bible had plans, but those plans went awry when they died, because the plan was never written down.

The Prime Minister explained to Snagg that neither he nor anyone has to be fearful because all his plans have already been written down.

He then went on to name the documents in which the plans were contained.

“The St Vincent and the Grenadines National Economic and Social Development Plan 2013-2025, you want our 12-year plan it’s here; ask Ralph.”

Additionally the plan for the next five years, the party’s manifesto, is currently with the printers and Vincentians could look forward to getting a copy soon.

“Unity Labour Party manifesto 2015, we are putting this manifesto, the full unabridged manifesto on the website, but because it is a big document, we are putting an abridged version which you can hold in your hand, so that you see a sense of what our plans are, which we committed to carry out in the next five years…,” the Prime Minister explained.

Also according to the Prime Minister, a youth manifesto would also be available to the public which would outline the plans for youth development in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

“…the National Health Sector strategic plan 2015-2019…you want to see the specific education plan this is the Education Sector Development plan St Vincent and the Grenadines 2014-2019,” Gonsalves indicated.

The plan to end hunger is also already written in the ‘Zero Hunger Plan’ and he also noted that the plan for the development of the new city at Arnos Vale is also in writing.

“The plan for the development to move the cruise ship port from where it is and bring it here at Arnos Vale, a state of the art cruise ship pier with a 50-berth marina in front of the new city; you want that, this is the plan…

“…and if you want to see what the experts have done, this is not Farmville. I am going to show you, this is what the experts have drawn to show the layout of what in front here would look like after they put the Unity Labour Party back in power and what we will be building.”

The Prime Minister urged Vincentians to vote for the ULP in the December 9 poll and also urged them to have confidence in not only him, but also the other 14 candidates who will be contesting the election.(CM)
