Local artist showcases 20 pieces of artwork

An exhibition of 20 pieces of artwork by a local artist is now on at the Alliance Francaise.

The exhibition, which has as its theme: “Nature: A journey to the Past through the eyes of a child,” is the second solo exhibition of visual arts teacher Shonette Lisa Bynoe.{{more}}

The painting styles used in the exhibition are surrealism, expressionism and abstract figurative.

Twenty-seven year old Bynoe, a resident of Villa, said in a release that the exhibition explores childhood memories with her mother and places she visited. 

A budding photographer, Bynoe is a past student of the St Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, an A level graduate of the Visual Arts programme from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College and a member of the Contemporary Young Artists Movement (CYAM). 

The exhibition opened on November 7 and will run for three weeks. The opening hours are Monday to Thursday 9 – 5 p.m. and Friday 9 – ­2 p.m.
