No serious injuries in three-way collision

One vehicle was totalled and one man sent to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) after a three-way accident which took place in Arnos Vale Sunday night.

The accident, which took place in the vicinity of the E T Joshua airport drew many onlookers who breathed a sigh a of relief after it was realized that no one had been seriously injured in the crash.{{more}}

Kerri Johnson told SEARCHLIGHT that she was travelling behind the Suzuki Escudo when the accident occurred.

“This car was trying to turn into the gas station…and the jeep was coming down, I am not really sure what happened …I don’t think he was expecting this man to turn when he came around the corner but the man kept going, so then he realized he would actually have to stop.”

“He jammed brakes but his car skidded and I think he tried to swerve the car as well … and ended up hitting it and when he hit it tipped over and skid down the road into this van (Toyota Noah).”

She indicated that the driver of the other vehicle, a Daihatsu Terios, was taken to the MCMH after he complained of pains in his chest.

“The jeep came down too fast and he couldn’t brake in time,” Shannon Phillips another witness to the accident mentioned.

There have been 13 accidents so far for the year which have been resulted in the deaths of 21 persons.(CM)
