SVGCC to hold Theological Reflection, Panel Discussion
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Christian Council will host a Theological Reflection and Panel Discussion on Thursday, October 29 from 6:30 p.m. at the Methodist Church Hall and Community Building, Kingstown.{{more}}
The theme of the discussion is âCause and Effect of Crime and Violence in St Vincent and the Grenadines: A Search for Common Solutionsâ.
Bishop Jason Gordon of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kingstown will lead the presentation, which will be followed by a panel discussion. The panelists will include: Dr Karen Providence of the Mental Health Centre; Julian Jack, barrister at law; Bishop Sonny Williams of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI); and Superintendent of Police Kamecia Blake-Byam.
âThe primary objective of the Theological Reflection and Panel Discussion is to examine the nature, causes, and consequences of crime and violence in our society, with the aim of assisting in prevention and reduction.
âThe Christian Council also sees the event as an opportunity to explore options for collaboration with existing institutions and organizations charged with the prevention and detection of crime, and the prosecution of persons charged with criminal offences,â a release from the organizers said.
