Fancy Gov’t celebrates World Food Day

The Fancy Government School celebrated World Food Day last week Friday with an exhibition of local foods under the slogan ‘Our people, our food’.{{more}}

This coincided with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization’s theme of ‘Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty’.

The exhibition had a wide variety of fruits and local dishes made from breadfruit, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, bananas, spinach, coconuts, avocadoes and golden apples — just to name a few.

It was viewed by villagers, students and staff of the school.
