Over EC$80,000 worth of supplies shipped to Dominica

Over EC$80,000 worth of supplies were shipped to Dominica last week from St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) as part of the Tropical Storm Erika relief effort.{{more}}

The supplies, which included hardware supplies, food supplies, mattresses and cleaning products were shipped last Wednesday by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), in collaboration with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society.

The Emergency Supplies, valued at EC$80,075.76 were sent to the Office of Disaster Management (ODM), Commonwealth of Dominica, through Tropical Shipping Agency.

A release from NEMO said they wished, in collaboration with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Red Cross Society to thank the general public for their support. They also extended their gratitude to the owners of the following supermarkets, who collaborated on this effort: CK Greaves Supermarket, Kingstown; Sunrise Supermarket, Arnos Vale; Greaves Market Place, Pembroke; Bonadies Supermarket #1; Bonadies Supermarket #2; Super J IGA Supermarket, Arnos Vale; Super J IGA Supermarket, Stoney Ground; Save A Lot Supermarket, Kingstown; Randy’s Supermarket, Kingstown.

NEMO also expressed its profound gratitude to Tropical Shipping Agency for the transportation of these relief supplies.
