The workshop is geared towards aspiring fashion students interested in exploring apparel design as a career path, and also to emerging designers, tailors and seamstresses looking to learn and improve techniques.

Glasgow holds an Associate Degree in Fashion Design and has shown at international shows, including Miami Fashion Week and Dominicana Moda – Dominican Republic Fashion Week.

Millhouse is the husband and wife team of Gregory Mills and Coline Baptiste-Mills. Mills, a bespoke tailor, is a graduate of the prestigious Savile Row Academy of London. Baptiste-Mills has a Master of Arts in Fashion Retail from the University of the Arts, London College of Fashion, and she is on the Advisory Board of the Caribbean Academy of Fashion Design (CAFD), University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).

This workshop is in line with a number of the identified goals of the soon-to-be-incorporated SVG Fashion Designers Association: To educate Vincentians in the fashion design field to international standards to aid in competitiveness; to increase educational opportunities available locally to those in the creative and garment sectors; and to develop the design ability of fashion practitioners in preparation for the export market.

“One of the main objectives is to improve the skills and knowledge base of fashion practitioners and the garment industry in general, to improve the quality and creativity of apparel design produced in SVG, while using the unique Vincentian perspective as inspiration,” said Glasgow.

The workshop is being supported by Developing Labs SVG, First Citizens Bank, the National Cultural Foundation and the National Development Foundation.
