Fire destroys two houses at Long Wall
For most, the long Easter holiday weekend was spent catching up on much needed rest or enjoying the regatta in Bequia; but for two unlucky Long Wall residents, it was spent picking up the pieces after their homes were destroyed by fire.
Shortly after 4 p.m., last week Wednesday, April 1, the Fire {{more}}Department responded to a report that two houses were engulfed in flames at Long Wall in the Town Hill community. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene, two houses had been gutted by fire, and it was threatening to spread to two other properties.
One of the homes destroyed was occupied by Princess Roberts, who is originally from Union Island. The other house belonged to Elvis Seales, a musician and businessman.
Seales had another property in the nearby vicinity that suffered minor damage to its roof and windows. Additionally, the house of labourer Lennox Dellimore also received minor damage.
In a press release from the RSVG Police Force Public Relations and Complaints Department, it was stated that an investigation into the cause of the fire was ongoing, and at that point, the cost of the damage had not been estimated.
