Vincentian appointed webmaster at Caribbean Examinations Council

A Vincentian is among three persons recently appointed to the staff of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

Ayodele Pompey, a Vincentian, has been recruited as webmaster. He joined CXC on Monday, 19 January 2015. Pompey is responsible for managing {{more}}the Council’s website www.cxc.org and CXC’s social media platforms: Facebook, Youtube and Twitter.

He possesses a Master’s degree in Advanced Computer Science and Information Technology Management from the University of Manchester and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. Pompey has over a decade of experience in designing applications across multiple platforms and managing teams successfully in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean.

Kemaul Persaud, a Barbadian national, joined the Council on Monday, February 2 in the post of director of Corporate Services. In this position, Persaud has direct responsibility for three divisions – Human Resources, Finance and Office Management, and Information Systems. Persaud is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA). He holds a Master’s in Law (LLM), and a Bachelor of Science from the University of the West Indies, majoring in Accounting. Persaud has over 20 years’ experience in the management and accounting field. His experience spans both the regional and international arena, having worked extensively with large multi-national firms and local corporations such as ANSA McAL (Barbados), Sagicor Life Inc, Consolidated Finance and Coopers and Lybrand (Barbados).

Noel Stennett, a national of Jamaica has been appointed Senior Assistant Registrar – Examinations Administration and Security Division, effective January 2015. In this capacity, Stennett has direct responsibility for the administration of the Council’s examinations. He will also lead the Council’s electronic marking initiative, which commenced in earnest in 2014.

Stennett has over 20 years’ experience in education and more than 10 years in education management. He holds Masters’ degrees in Education Administration, English, and Comparative Literature.

“These three appointments come at a critical time, as the Council moves ahead with several strategic initiatives. The three new staff are all competent professionals in their respective disciplines and will make a positive contribution to the development of the Council,” stated Mr Glenroy Cumberbatch, Registrar of CXC. “On behalf of the CXC family, I welcome them into the family and trust that they will have a productive and fulfilling tenure with CXC.”
