‘Black Friday’ sales tradition extends beyond retailers

While the consumer-friendly North American tradition of ‘Black Friday’ sales has been growing in popularity in St Vincent and the Grenadines, it has usually been restricted to retail companies.{{more}}

However, this year, Scotiabank will be joining in the excitement, with a Black Friday loans sale on Friday, November 28. Country manager Fitzaudy Wright disclosed that the bank will be offering special, low rates on mortgages and Scotia Plan Loans on that day, adding:

“Obviously Christmas is a time of year when homeowners start thinking about sprucing up their homes. And with 2015 around the corner, those who aren’t homeowners may have made the resolution to get into their own home. This Black Friday sale will let people fulfil their Christmas to-do list and New Year’s resolution on the same day!”

Personal Banking manager Lesley Howard-Bowman noted that the event would be an all-day extravaganza to kick off the Christmas season, with Christmas music, gift-giving and other festive activities to get Vincentians into the holiday spirit.
