British woman drowns in Tobago Cays while snorkelling

A British woman is reported to have drowned last week while snorkelling in the Grenadines.{{more}}

Jane Elizabeth Brazenor, 67 years, of Great Britain, UK, and her husband Paul Brazenor arrived in the state on October 29 and were guests at the Palm Island Resort.

According to a police report, on November 2, the couple were snorkelling in waters of the Tobago Cays, when Brazenor observed that his wife was motionless in the water.

Medical and other relevant authorities were alerted. The District Medical Officer examined the body of Mrs Brazenor and pronounced her dead. A post mortem examination performed on the body of the deceased on November 5, 2014, revealed the cause of death as “asphyxia, due to drowning.”
