Police investigating murder of Bequia man

Up to press time yesterday, details were still sketchy as to what caused the death of Bequia resident Colville Ollivierre, who succumbed to chop wounds about his body on Wednesday night.{{more}}

Ollivierre is said to have been found dead on his couch at his home in the southern village of Gellizeau. SEARCHLIGHT understands that Ollivierre shared the house with his son Diandrous Williams, Diandrous’ girlfriend and the young couple’s child.

When SEARCHLIGHT contacted the Criminal Investigations Department yesterday afternoon, investigators were still at the crime scene assessing the situation. SEARCHLIGHT understands that Diandrous, who is said to be in his early twenties, is assisting police with their investigations.

Ollivierre’s death brings the total number of homicides in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the year to 31. This is the second homicide on Bequia for 2014.
