SVGMA to host College and Career Exhibition tomorrow

The College and Career Exhibition, hosted by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association (SVGMA), takes place from tomorrow, Wednesday, October 15, to Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown.{{more}}

The exhibition, which is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. both days. It is free to the public.

A release from the SVGMA said it is especially important for students from Form 3 upwards to come and learn about a wide variety of careers, college programs, admission policies and scholarships. Counsellors and recruiters from a number of colleges and universities from around the region, as well as from the USA and Canada will be available with a wealth of information about their institutions.

Additionally, the SVGMA is inviting the general public to join them in two events to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The 8th annual Pink Cap City Walk takes place on Friday, October 19, beginning at 3:30 p.m. from Heritage Square to Bay Street, to Higginson Street, Grenville Street to Heritage Square, where there is a Closing Rally with an entertainment package.

Secondly, the Inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness 5K Run & Walk takes place on Sunday, October 19, from the Arnos Vale Playing Field Road to the Grassroots Tennis Courts. This event begins at 7:30 a.m. This is held in conjunction with the students of Trinity School of Medicine. Trophies and medals will be awarded.
