FCIB St Vincent and colleagues from 17 other Caribbean countries will all participate in walks on that day, while their Canadian partners will take part in a run, to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer.

Here at home, participants will begin at the CIBC FCIB bank yard at Halifax Street, journey up the Seventh Day Adventist Church, turn down towards Bay Street, turn at Randy’s Wholesale towards Edinboro up to Fort Charlotte, and back to the bank via Back Street.

The walk begins at 5:30 a.m., and participants will be provided with a T-shirt, water and breakfast.

Persons interested in being a part of the event are asked to register at the bank with Walk manager Jacintha Hinds.

This is the second time that the Walk for the CURE is taking place in the Caribbean, and the regional branches were able to raise $100,000 for cancer treatment and awareness last year.

Hinds said that the institutions hope to exceed the 2014 benchmark, in an effort to improve the lives of persons suffering from the devastating effects of cancer in the Caribbean.
