Smith wins March Bible Quiz
Judah Smith of the St Vincent Grammar School, winner of the Secondary School Bible Quiz for March, received his prize, yesterday, Monday, 7th April. This was done at his school’s assembly at which devotion was conducted by the retiring prefects, who will soon be leaving to prepare for CXC examinations.{{more}}
For winning, Smith received a Bible, $100 cash, a gift-voucher valued $150 from Acute Cosmetics, plus a gift for his parent. Additionally Smith and Omega Wilkinson of the West St George Secondary School were the recipients of a ticket each to attend the Karen Hinds Phenomenal Women’s Conference Youth Session on Friday. Using the principle “it is better to give than receive,” the March winner was encouraged to give his ticket to a female relative or friend between the ages of 13-17. The tickets were sponsored by Going Places Travels.
In presenting the prize, Joel Jack, coordinator of the quiz, reminded all students of the Distinguished Graduate Award, which will be presented in December. To qualify, a student must have at least 10 entries in the quiz by August of this year. The eligible entrant with the best CSEC results will be the winner. A very attractive prize is promised.
