Following a successful first year in 2013, this yearâs conference will take place on April 11 and 12, under the theme âSeeing New Possibilities.â
This year, the organisers have added new and exciting packages to their programme.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, representative of the organizing committee Joy Cato noted that the conference was a catalyst for women to discover what great things lay within themselves.
âThe Karen Hinds Phenomenal Women Conference is a global conference for any woman, young or mature, who is ready to use the power that lies within her. Itâs an opportunity to get focused, build confidence and develop the courage to make decisions. This conference offers you tools, inspiration and the support of a community of local, regional and global women,â Cato said.
While last yearâs event was an all-day event, two days were put aside in 2014 to cater not only for the mature female population, but the young as well.
In this new turn of events, top CSEC performer for 2013 Kaela Barrett will host the proceedings, alongside Karen Hinds.
âThe Friday conference is an afternoon conference and in that conference, the participants are expected to be between 13 and 17 years old,â Cato revealed. âWe will also have a panel which will be of persons who are established within the Vincentian community. They will speak to these young ladies about themselves, how they achieve their goals and exactly what their goals are.â
For the more mature women, concurrent sessions will be introduced, where the participants of the conference will be able to choose what they want to be a part of.
âWe anticipate that the participants will be as many as there were last year and more,â Cato explained, citing that last year, persons were still asking for tickets even after they were sold out.
Topics on the second day will include dealing with financial aspects in a womanâs life, marriage and starting your own business.
Early bird tickets for the event are already on sale and will continue until February 28. For the first day of the conference, early bird prices are $40 while $140 and $150 are the early bird prices for the second day, for regular or reserved seating.
After the early bird deadline, the ticket price for the first day is $55 and for the second day, prices will be $160 and $170.
The committee representative expressed thanks to sponsors for this yearâs event and indicated that other businesses that wish to become a part of the âphenomenal movementâ are welcome to do so.
Sponsors for this year are Grenadine House, Searchlight, Fedex, Oasis Spa, Ericaâs Country Style, Delightful Designs, Fine Things, Vitamalt, Mountain Top Water, Tourism Authority, Lime, Healthy Lifestyles, National Insurance Services, East Caribbean Group of Companies, Sagicor, Veejays, Exquisite Events and Going Places Travel.
