Man succumbs to injuries in alleged hit-and-run

Police are carrying out investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of 52-year-old Lenford Thomas of Mt. Greenan.{{more}}

SEARCHLIGHT understands that Thomas was allegedly struck by a truck in Byera on Tuesday, at about 9 a.m.

Reports are that persons met Thomas at the side of the road, tossing from side to side and breathing heavily.

The injured man was taken to the Colonarie Clinic and later transferred to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police say that Thomas, who has had a history of mental illness, suffered injuries to his head and body.
