The donation was made to the families housed at the Spring Village Community Centre last Thursday, February 13. VINLEC has been a part of the Spring Village/Cumberland community for close to 30 years, having established a power plant in the area during the mid 1980’s.

The items donated by VINLEC were collected through a Helping Hands Drive, embarked upon by the company, where employees and the company contributed clothes, food, household items, toiletries, sheet sets, towels and other necessities, as identified by the shelter manager.

VINLEC’s Communications officer, Mrs Tamara Job-Sprott, says the company was honoured to make this contribution to those affected, noting that it is anticipated that their lives would be enhanced through it. She says VINLEC remains dedicated to improving the lives of Vincentians through its various community outreach programmes.

Meanwhile, Mr Syl Samuel, who accepted the donation on behalf of the shelter management team, has assured that the contribution will be used as intended by the donor. Mr Samuel said the residents of the shelter were appreciative of the gifts.

The donation is valued at EC$3000.
