The event, which is being held in collaboration with FLOWT, begins at 7 p.m. and aims to provide a casual and intimate setting for Vincentian artists, writers, poets, performers and cultural activists to connect with each other while building relationships and solidarity with the local creative community, a release from the organizers said.

According to the release, the evening’s programming, while informal, will engage and showcase various disciplines. Singer songwriter Amanda Gooding will provide entertainment in the late evening, along with select musical guests. The event will culminate with a screening of short film and video works by several Caribbean and diaspora-based artists curated by ARC Magazine and Yasmine Espert.

“We are thrilled to announce the premiere of the Jamaican portmanteau, ‘Ring Di Alarm!,’ produced by six Jamaica-based directors from the collective, New Caribbean Cinema, which includes Storm Saulter, Michael ‘Ras Tingle’ Tingling, Michelle Serieux, Nile Saulter, Kyle Chin and Joel Burke. The evening will also present experimental works from Christopher and Leizelle Guinness, Jayson Keeling, Versia Harris, Shirley Bruno, Martine Jean, Jeannette Ehlers and Malaika Brooks-Smith-Lowe,” the release said.

Copies of Issue Nº7 of ARC Magazine will be available for purchase for a special ONE NIGHT ONLY price of $40.00XCD. Issue Nº7 presents a collection of works from over 40 artists, writers and instigators who explore formal and informal issues of citizenship, representation, ownership, vestiges of melancholia and nostalgia, as well as renderings of the unburdening of self. Cash and cheques will be acceptable forms of payments.

“There will be light refreshments offered for the evening, served alongside complimentary popcorn to satisfy the cinephile craving,” the release said.

The event is free and open to the public. FLOWT is located at Ratho Mill, St Vincent on the same compound as Sunsail. To RSVP email rsvp@arcthemagazine.com
