Parent company awards KFC

The management and staff of the Melville Street branch of Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) have been awarded by their parent company, YUM! International, for surpassing the CHAMPS inspection.{{more}}

CHAMPS, is the acronym for Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product and Service.

According to the fast food restaurant’s general manager, Shanda Boyea, YUM International sends mystery shoppers to all the local branches, including Pizza Hut, every two weeks to conduct spot checks.

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, United States, YUM! is a Fortune 500 corporation and operates or licenses Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut, and WingStreet restaurants worldwide.

“For the last couple years, we have not been performing as well,” Boyea revealed.

“However, the year and a half that I’ve been there, we have really turned around the staff and renewed the vision of the company,” she added.

Boyea said that when the results were revealed two weeks ago, the staff surpassed all expectations.

“They were scoring the lowest for the six consecutive visits. This time around, they scored 100 per cent.

“They lost no marks whatsoever for any of the areas in CHAMPS. It’s a record for St Vincent and the store, of course, and we are really, really pleased that we’ve gotten this far,” Boyea said.

The general manager stated that the management and staff will continue “working really hard together to build a world class operation in St Vincent and the Grenadines.”(AA)
