Sr Annette Chow SJC to deliver Cheryl Herrera Memorial Lecture
Sr Annette Chow SJC, well-known for her monthly photo-meditations in the Catholic News of Trinidad & Tobago (2005-2012), will deliver the Cheryl Herrera Memorial Lecture during the 16th Conference on Catholic Theology in the Caribbean Today,{{more}} to be held in St Vincent and the Grenadines from June 17 to 21.
The Memorial Lecture was established by the theology conference in 2005 in commemoration of Cheryl Herrera, past administrator of the Pastoral Centre in Trinidad and the first secretary to the conference. Sr Annetteâs lecture, which is open to the public, is entitled: âCreation Spirituality: Whatâs in it for the Caribbean?â and will take place at the Roman Catholic Pastoral Centre, on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 5 p.m.
Sr Annette who holds a BA (Lond), BA Theology (UWI), MEd (Wales), taught for 15 years before venturing into pastoral ministry, first in the Toco/Matelot parish and then at St Theresaâs Church, Rio Claro, where she was the parish administrator.
Since her first photo meditation âThe Bridge Buildersâ appeared in the Catholic News on January 2, 2005, Sr. Annette has published ninety-two (92) monthly photo-meditations between 2005-2012 (cf.www.catholicnews-tt.net) in collaboration with her photographer brother-in-law Kenny Joseph, Nyssa Chow and Jen Kreyenborg. A glance at some of her photo-meditations such as âNest buildingâ(May 2005), âFlower powerâ (October 2005), âMini resurrectionsâ (April 2006) or âDewâ (June 2012) will give a quick introduction to her thoughts. Her last meditation, âGoodbye T&Tâ appeared on Friday, July 6, 2012.
