Lions Club donates backpacks, books to needy children

Members of the Lions Club of Kingstown on August 21 presented several needy children with backpacks and books.{{more}}

Lion President LaTeisha Sandy highlighted the major contributions, which the Club makes to the community on an annual basis, the club said in a release.

Sandy further encouraged the parents and guardians to ensure that the students go to school, and to take pleasure in their education.

Project Co-ordinator Raphie King thanked the business sponsors who contributed to the donations.

A parent praised the club for their contributions to the primary and secondary students. He asked the children to take care of their gifts and wished the Lions continued success in their community endeavours, the release further said.
