This group, which has created an online presence at www.fpcfilms.org, describes itself thus:- “The Saint Vincent and the Grenadines FPC is an organization with the mandate to “inter alia” harness the talent which exists in the local Film and Audio Visual Community and to develop new talent in an effort to create a stimulating environment for the development of a Film Industry in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

With a board of Directors and a General Membership, including David Darkie Williams, Bernard Joseph, Bryan Hadaway, Duane Daniel, Vynnette Frederick and Sean Patterson, who are interested in all things film and audio/visual, the Collective will independently, and in collaboration with other organizations, undertake a number of initiatives to encourage the development of film production in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

As one of its first activities, the FPC will work in collaboration with vincyclassroom.com to hold Camp InnovateIT, a Film making Camp for youngsters between ages 10-18, which will run from July 23, 2012 to August 5, 2012 at the Greenhouse in Cane Grove, starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Registration forms are available at bookstores and Coreas, Singer and Photography stores in Kingstown.

A team of three film making professionals from the UK, led by Rachel Meyrick, will volunteer their services, along with local film maker Akley Olton, and Dramatist David Darkie Williams, to, over the two-week duration of camp, teach the rudiments of film making, photography and drama to all campers.

The FPC hopes to make this camp an annual event.
