LIME presents: ‘Look Who Didn’t Make It’ Monarch

If they didn’t make it to the Ragga Soca Monarch and Soca Monarch Final, LIME, Super Platinum sponsor of Vincy Mas, has offered artistes an opportunity to display their craft on stage at the LIME Promenade, in a show called “Look who didn’t make it”.{{more}} The show will take place this afternoon, and will kick off a weekend of activities dubbed ‘LIME Power Weekend’.

“Look who didn’t make it LIME Monarch” show is in its second year and artistes who have spent hundreds of dollars on their 2012 productions have been anticipating the staging of this event. They will compete for a chance to win a grand winner-take-all prize of $1,000.

Defending Monarch Recardo “Rekka” Wilson will defend his 2011 title and the competition is expected to be keen, based on the interest shown by many artistes who didn’t make it to Victoria Park for either Ragga Soca or Soca Monarch.

LIME General Manager Leslie Jack is keen to host these talented Soca artistes and commented “LIME again shows that we are not new to innovations. Last year, the Soca artistes who never had a chance to perform on a stage competed at the “Look Who Didn’t Make It” show and the excitement was overwhelming. Could you imagine these artistes spending hundreds of dollars in producing their music and the radio stations and DJs don’t play them? These guys need an outlet and LIME is proud to create this avenue for them to impress their fans. The winner will take home $1,000, winner-take-all prize which will assist in paying back some expenses for their productions.”

Twelve finalists will take the stage from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will be judged on presentation, lyrics, melody, crowd response and rendition.

The LIME Power weekend continues on Saturday, June 30, as the sales team takes the Carnival deals to the Windward side of the island.

Then, all roads lead to LIME H2O at the Arnos Vale Complex, featuring Machel Montano HD and the best of local artistes like Skinny Fabulous, Fireman, Fya Empress, Luta and Problem Child.

On Sunday, Soca on the Beach will take place at Rawacou Beach, featuring Destra Garcia and all the top local artistes.

LIME Monday Band will be the next biggest event of the LIME Carnival Calendar, as the official telecommunications of Vincy Mas close another exciting year of partnership with the CDC.
