According to Miller, her home was âset afireâ after she left her home to visit her sister who lives close by.
âI didnât leave any fire in my house,â the weeping woman explained during an interview with SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday.
Patricia said she was at her sisterâs home eating when she got the news from her niece that her home was ablaze.
âWhen I look out and saw the fire, I dropped what I was eating and headed up. When I got there, I dropped to the ground and bawl for help,â said Miller.
Millerâs niece, Erica Dasent, said she saw the individual who supposedly set the fire and reported it to her aunt.
âI saw the person behind my brother house, which is close to hers (Patricia) and he was lighting something, but I didnât pay any attention to that because at first we thought he was just lighting a cigarette,â Erica said.
Miller on the other hand said someone had been in her sisterâs yard earlier arguing and making remarks that âNo one can stop him from doing whatever he has to do.â
Still torn over the loss of all her possessions, Miller stuttered for words as she disclosed the value of her lost possessions.
âAll the items that were in it, as well as the house valued EC$48,770,â Miller said.
âI feel real sad. I canât even hold up. I have nowhere to go. I have nothing now,â she said, before she broke into tears again.
The matter has been reported to the police and SEARCHLIGHT was informed that the name of the individual suspected of lighting the fire was also given to the police.
âWhen the police came, he ran. Then when they leave, he came back walking around with a cutlass in his hand,â she added.
This is the second time that Miller has lost her home by fire. In 2005, her home was burnt by an individual who is presently in jail for the act.
In 2007, she rebuilt her home which was burnt on Tuesday night.(AA)
