Unable to supress her grief anymore, Clarena Roberts-Sam visited SEARCHLIGHT on Monday to ask for assistance in finding her son.

According to the distressed mother, Doon, as he is popularly known, is a farmer and regularly makes trips to the mountain, where he has a farm.

On these trips, he never spends more than one week, she said.

“In most cases, he would go and spend a day and will return later in the day,” Roberts-Sam said.

On Tuesday, May 29, however, Doon’s customary late evening return from the mountain, as expected, did not happen.

Roberts-Sam disclosed that several days after her son went missing, she began having unusual dreams. She also said that while on her job in Mustique, she repeatedly called home to find out if Doon had returned, but the response was always a disappointing “no”.

The thought of going to the mountains to search for her son or his body has crossed her mind, but according to Roberts-Sam, they would not know where to start, “because it is far up in the hillside and he never disclosed where exactly he farmed.”

She said calls to her son’s phone have not been answered.

“His sister … tried calling him many times, as much as eighteen times on one day and it just ring out,” the mother explained.

Gilroy was said to have been involved in an altercation with another individual a few months ago, and according to Roberts-Sam, “speculations are that something may have happened to him.

“You know it’s speculations, but I’d accept the fact something happen, if anything happen, but I just want to find my son.”

Roberts-Sam further noted that Doon is the second of her five children, and said they have a very close relationship. She also describes him as a jovial and humble individual.

“I feel real down and at nights I can’t sleep, because I am always twisting and turning, listening to hear the gate open to see if it’s him,” she added.

The distressed mother is seeking the assistance of the public in finding her son, who, she said, is approximately 5ft 6 inches tall, dark in complexion and of average build. When last seen, his hair was plaited.

The matter was reported to the police and is being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to call 532-4199 or the police.(AA)
