The 46-year-old Electrician of Campden Park died on Saturday, June 8, at Lowmans Bay, while fishing.

A post mortem report revealed that Maxwell’s lungs were filled with water at the time of his death.

While he is still trying to cope with his loss, the brother of the deceased, Dereck Maxwell, said the manner in which his brother lost his life is sad.

Dereck said according to reports, his brother was at Lowmans Bay fishing with some other men. He said after the men finished cooking on the beach, his brother took a diving glass and said he was going diving. He said the men took away the diving glass from his brother, but Terrance was persistent and went into the water.

“The guys dem say he was swimming, but the glare from the sun was against him and they couldn’t see where he was… After 15 minutes, they went out and look for him, but by that time, he was already at the bottom of the sea,” Dereck said.

The distraught man said he believes that his brother suffered a cramp while he was in the water.

Dereck described his brother as a “cool going person”, even though he was a heavy drinker. He noted that it was only a few days before his brother perished that he spoke with him briefly.

“He come here like last week and brought a fish and he had to hustle off soon after..,” he recounted.

Terrance will be laid to rest this Sunday at the Lowman’s Leeward cemetery.(KW)
