Speaking on the New Times radio program on Monday, Lynch updated listeners on his condition saying that the diagnosis suggests that he is suffering from a rare eye disorder that causes swelling at the back of his eye.
He also said that there was a deposit of cholesterol which was contributing to the problem.
Lynch said he was told by doctors that he did not require surgery and that there was nothing that could be done to the eye. They however set new dates for him to return for a checkup.
âBut I find that strange that they hadnât found anything growing or protruding. There was nothing to operate on,â he explained.
Lynch however said that he contacted a Vincentian nurse who now resides in the US who referred him to another medical facility.
When he arrived there, he said that he underwent further tests and then after some consulting, they came up with the diagnosis Lynch explained.
âI do not need an operation what I needed was treatmentâ¦,â Lynch said.
He said that he had his first treatment last week and is scheduled to return for more treatment on September 9.
âSo that is how it is,â he said.
He also cleared the air saying that many persons, particularly those living in the Diaspora thought he was blind and had to be escorted.
âThat is not so, my problem is that I cannot read fine print,â Lynch explained.
He thanked all who made contributions to the fund saying that it was this which allowed him to travel to New York on April 3 to receive treatment.
âThe next step forward is to get the treatment and maybe within the next two months, I will be able to pick up the newspapers and read the fine prints again,â Lynch said.
Lynch returned to the state on June 3. (DD)
