This program, written from scratch, will make submissions of NIS contributions easier for employers. The software targets all categories of employers; those who use payroll software and those who do not use payroll systems.

Speaking at the launch of the program last Friday at NIS, Executive Director Reginald Thomas stated that the new E-Submit plus programme was developed based on feedback from stakeholders.

“You told us what we had was indeed good and we were moving in the right direction and you wanted more, so we took your suggestions on board and today we have advanced the E-Submit initial platform,” Thomas said.

The E-Submit plus, is an upgrade from the NIS initial E-Submit program.

The new software will enable users to submit contributions records twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and allow users to add and maintain employee records and give users the ability to save schedules and continue work at a later time without losing data.

It will also allow users to download and print schedule reports. It enables the acceptance of self Employed and Voluntary contributions, and provides Electronic Wage Reporting that is built into the eSubmit application. Additionally it has the ability to accept Microsoft excel’s csv file formats and does not require the installation of any software on the employers’ premises.

Hannif Sutherland of the NIS stated that the E submit plus program was developed from scratch and that they are satisfied.

“It is very robust, we have done penetration testing on it…we had external people try and hack it and we are very satisfied,” he said.

The E-submit launch included a presentation of the new, improved program and also an interactive session with the potential users of the program.
