Hinds releases fourth book
Vincentian author and consultant Karen Hinds has released her fourth book entitled, âA Young Adultâs Guide to the Global Workplaceâ.{{more}}
Hinds, now residing in Connecticut, United States, is back home to promote her new book, which is a practical guide for young adults across the world to learn the essential skills needed to strategically lay the foundation for a successful career in a global economy.
âIâve enjoyed my visit and promoting my book and it has received a good response from Vincentians so far, so I thank them for their support,â the former Chauncey resident told SEARCHLIGHT during a book signing at Gaymes Book Centre last Friday.
âThe book is a guide for young adults to help them understand what to do when applying for a job, once they get the job and how to excel in their career.
âIf they are currently looking for a position, we have tons of tips. If they are still far from looking for a position, they are still young and in high school or the college years, we have lots of tips to help them prepare,â she explained.
Also the Founder and CEO of Workplace Success Group LLC based in the United States, Hinds has published three books prior to âA Young Adultâs Guide to the Global Workplace.â
The other three books are: The Power of Distinction⢠Curriculum Set, Get Along, Get Ahead: 101 Courtesies for the New Workplace and Networking for a Better Position and More Profit.
Her business, Workplace Success Group LLC, works with individuals and companies to position emerging leaders to discover, master and operate in their own distinctive power to stand out and move up personally and professionally.
Some of her clients include Frito-Lay, Harvard Business School Executive Education Program, The Bank of New York Mellon and Turner Construction.
In 2008, Hinds was nominated for the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and won the Micro to Millions business award.
Hinds will give a motivational lecture on the topic âMaking Wise Choicesâ this afternoon, at the Methodist Church Hall, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Admission to the event is free. She is a weekly columnist in SEARCHLIGHT.
