Jake Bowman, of the US Air force stated that the shipment contained about five pallets of packaged school supplies, medical supplies and other equipment. He stated that the people of Wisconsin through the Good News project had donated the items which were shipped by the US Air force.
Local coordinator of the Good News project in St. Vincent and the Grenadines Paul Bowman stated that the Good News project has been around for about 10 to 15 years and that it is a non profit organization.
According to the Good News Inc website, its mission is to provide opportunities for short-term direct personal service; to deliver humanitarian supplies and support to the underprivileged in the West Indies; and to serve the communities of north-central Wisconsin.
The supplies are expected to be distributed in schools and clinics around the island.
