Local artists exhibit new paintings
Bequia residents and visitors have a chance to see a special exhibition of new paintings by one of our countryâs finest artists, Lennox Dinks Johnson.{{more}}
The exhibition, entitled âNine Miles Northâ, opened on Friday at the Oasis Art Gallery in Port Elizabeth with a well-attended reception for invited guests. Gallery curator L.D. âLucyâ Quashie, whose paintings also appear in the show, says she is delighted that Dinks agreed to bring his paintings to Bequia.
The Oasis Art Gallery is dedicated to presenting works by artists of St Vincent and the Grenadines in feature exhibitions and its permanent collection.
On sale and display, too, is banana artwork by Nzimbu Browne, plus woodcarving, sailing model boats and a variety of gift items âall made hereâ.
The exhibition runs through January. Gallery hours are Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4:00 pm.
