SVG Toastmasters Clubs on top

The Toastmasters Clubs of St. Vincent and the Grenadines are celebrating after learning that the Area and Division to which they belong – Area 20 and Division C – have both received the highest award available to Toastmasters Clubs – the President’s Distinguished Award.{{more}}

Within Toastmasters, an “Area” is a group of four to seven Clubs led by an Area Governor. Groups of three to seven Areas are formed into a “Division”, which is led by a Division Governor.

Division C’s Governor Camille Carasquero, DTM, shared the news with SVG Toastmasters last weekend. She advised that St. Vincent and the Grenadines was a key component in the success of Division C, in part through the rapid growth of Toastmasters in this country, which resulted in the establishment of three new Clubs within the last year – Creative Thinkers, Dynamic Leaders (a Corporate Club for employees of the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines) and Mustique Professionals.

SVG Toastmasters also placed themselves firmly on the Caribbean Toastmasters map last year, with the very first Vincentian Area Governor, Jacinta Elliott, ACS, CL, and by successfully hosting the October 2010 District Conference. Area Governor Elliott has expressed her joy and gratitude at seeing so many major achievements for SVG Toastmasters realized during her tenure.

There is no doubt that SVG Toastmasters are continuing to blaze the way among Caribbean Toastmasters Clubs, as they share the gospel of “Better Listening, Better Thinking and Better Speaking”.
