Carnival revelers are asked to be on the look out this Vincy Mas for K-netiK, the country’s newest band.{{more}}

K-netiK comprises two former members of the band Signal, band Leader and Bassman Olson “Arbie” James and guitarist Horton “Artan” McKree; vocalist Johnny “Rebel” of Blacksand and Hottsand fame; and female vocalists Oyeola “Abby” Legair and Stacy Collins. On Drums is a former drummer of Starlift Steel Orchestra and The Alliance Band, Dewakie “Wacky” Thomas; keyboardists, Shamos “Black” White and “Che”; and percussionist Uderick “Rick” Watson. The brassman is Rohan Bilingy. Raymond Power will be on trumpet and Omari Hunte on Sax.

This band features live brass, an element which has been missing from local musical bands since the days of “Signal”.

The band made its first public appearance at S.V.G. Players Mas Band launching, held at the Solidarity Car Park on April 3.

The members, all decked out in vibrant Orange colour T-shirts, took the stage with full confidence, a composition of youthful talents combined with experienced musicians.

Following its first performance, their next outing was at the official launch of Vincy Mas on May 7th at the Solidarity Car Park. They also provided backstopping music for the Lime Soca Dans and other artistes.

For all who have not yet seen and heard K-NetiK, the next stop on their calendar is Friday, June 10, at the Calliaqua Hard Court, where the East St. George Carnival Committee will be hosting its Queen Show, along with Calypso and Soca Monarch competitions, from 8 p.m. Following this, the band will be on the “Soca Train” on Sunday, June 19.

The band will also be on the road on Carnival Monday afternoon with Funtime Promotions T-Shirt band “Delinquent Colours”.
