The Young Leaders of the North Union Secondary School (NUSS) officially launched their project on Thursday, March 17, 2011, at 1pm, in the schoolâs auditorium, in the form of a rally.{{more}}
Students and teachers alike were enlightened through song and speeches delivered by the Young Leaders, which highlighted the importance of water and created awareness of the need to conserve.
The featured speaker, Philmore Isaacs, in his delivery expounded on the challenges faced globally, regionally and locally in relation to water scarcity. He also shared from his expertise as a former Chief Agricultural Officer measures that can be employed to conserve water, particularly in the area of Agriculture.
In concluding his speech, Isaacs offered guidance to the Young Leaders with respect to the characteristics which they should seek to develop as leaders. He explained these characteristics as: vision, respect and determination, all of which they would need to succeed in their project.
