SVG Christian Council seeks to mediate between Government and Opposition
After recent meetings with the Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Ralph Gonsalves, and the Leader of the Opposition, the Honourable Arnhim Eustace, to discuss the current political situation, which is impacting negatively on the entire nation, the SVG Christian Council, recognising the need for greater unity and reconciliation at all levels recommends the following:{{more}}
1. That, immediately, a process of reconciliation be initiated, involving the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition and Parliamentarians.
2. That the Representation of the People (Amendment) Bill, 2011 and all protest actions be put on hold.
3. That the Christian Council facilitate an independent analysis of the said Bill.
4. That the SVG Christian Council play a mediating role in the process.
We call on all citizens of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and people of good will to pray for Godâs guidance for a peaceful resolution.
