The event is being celebrated under the theme “Embracing Our History Reclaiming Our Culture”. This event celebrates and salutes our community builders of the 1970s- 1990s who have developed the community while preserving our history, culture and values. The organisation seeks to strengthen the cultural heritage of the community and to join with the nation in celebrating the life of National Hero Joseph Chatoyer and our nation builders.

The event incorporates a cultural rally and awards ceremony. The cultural rally will showcase performances from several groups from different areas in the country. These include Lowmans Steel pan band, TNTG from Greggs, Chatoyer dancers from Sandy Bay, and other local schools and groups will display their cultural talents. Awards will be presented to six persons who have made outstanding progress in the areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Sports and Community Development.

A small exhibit will be on display to educate the public on St. Vincent and Diamond Village in the early 1800s and early 1900s. The event will educate the public on tradional ceremonies, dress, folk spirits (Jumbie) foods and games. Community members will have an opportunity to view artefacts of yesteryear. The exhibit will showcase the mortar and pestle, basin stand, Goose (iron), and many more relics. This exhibition will provide students and young residents with the opportunity to see the way of life of their grandparents, while on the other hand it will serve as a reminder to the elderly of how far we have come.
