7 elected to Board of Directors of Prison Fellowship ministry

A seven-member Board of Directors has been elected to conduct the affairs of this country’s Prison Fellowship ministry.{{more}}

The members were selected at a meeting last Saturday, March 5, which was held at the Chebar Evangelical Assembly in Rose Place, Kingstown.

Following a press conference yesterday, Monday, March 7 at the conference room of the Minister with responsibility for Ecclesiastical Affairs and National Reconciliation Maxwell Charles, it was announced that Pastor Jonathan Pitt had been elected as Chairman of the Board, with Carmalie Daniel elected Vice Chairman.

Costian Cupid was elected Executive Director of the organization, whose mandate is to reach out to current and former prisoners and their families, as well as the victims of crimes and their families, in an effort to provide reconciliation, among other things.

The Treasurer of the organization is Roxanne Westfield, with Ashakie Cupid being elected as Secretary, Chieftain Charles as Education Consultant, and Martin Forlan as Public Relations Officer.

Last Saturday’s meeting and yesterday’s press conference were attended by Aklilu Tadesse, a representative of Prison Fellowship International.(JJ)
