Digicel cares, and in the company’s continued efforts to show genuine corporate citizenship, Digicel’s Social Club will be having a fundraising fun walk on Monday, March 14.{{more}}

According to Marketing Executive at Digicel Justin John, the walk is being held in an effort to raise fund “that will go towards assisting the less fortunate persons in our society”.

Persons interested in supporting the worthy cause can purchase tickets at $20 each at Digicel’s Head Office (Lewis Building on James Street), The Cell (Halifax Street) and Pulse (Grenville Street), as well as all Digicel Social Club members. The $20 fee will give persons a t-shirt and snacks. Walkers will leave the Grassroot Tennis Court in Richmond Hill at 5:30 am on Monday, March 14, head out to the Indian Bay area via the Villa Fountain Road and then walk back to the Grassroot Tennis Court.

“The company at different points throughout the year reaches out to those who are less fortunate by offering food items and other basic necessities”, said John. He added that during Christmas 2010 as well as the days after Hurricane Tomas hit last October, Digicel gave away thousands of dollars worth of food supplies and other necessities.

The Social Club is hoping to make the walk an annual event on the company’s calendar.
