Layou resident Albertha Edwards is now the proud owner of a Blackberry Torch, compliments Digicel.{{more}}
Edwards won the handset during a raffle held by Digicel during one of their monthly Blackberry Seminars. The seminar was held at Digicelâs flagship store, âThe Cellâ (Halifax Street), on Wednesday, January 19.
Edwards said that she is very grateful to have won the phone, as in her opinion it was given to her just for taking part in the seminar.
âI have been with Digicel since they came out, and the service is very good. I have no complaintsâ, said Edwards, who added that she is very happy with the service and the rates she gets from the telecommunications company.
âI was so excited because I did not expect to winâ, said Edwards, who revealed that the Blackberry Torch she won is an upgrade from the Blackberry Curve which she bought last month during the Christmas special. She also said that she learnt of the Blackberry Seminar from a text message she received.
Dealer Accounts Manager at Digicel Fanta Williams handed over the handset to Edwards. Williams said that this monthâs seminar sought to teach prepaid customers about the various Blackberry devices that they use every day. Williams said that while Blackberry seminars are usually held for post-paid customers, Digicel thought that it was important to hold a seminar specifically for prepaid customers in an effort to sensitize persons.
âWe cater to all our customers so we held this seminar for our pre paid customers in our continued effort to teach our customers about the products and services we offer them. We also want persons to fully understand the device which they have purchasedâ, said Williams, who revealed that each prepaid customer was given a free month of data just for coming.
During the seminar, customers who were not already part of the Digicel family were given the opportunity to purchase Blackberry handsets at a discounted 20% off (prepaid) or 50% off (postpaid).
