On that day, the Government is expected to table an amendment to the Representation of the People Act.

“We are not going to take this matter lying down. By the time this Bill is to come back on Tuesday, we are going to have a massive vigil outside of the Parliament in St.Vincent and the Grenadines,” said Eustace.

Eustace said during this week, the NDP will be taking a number of steps to heighten people’s awareness of the provisions in the amendment to the legislation.

He also disclosed that the Opposition members in Parliament will mount a protest at the Main Administrative Building, where the Prime Minister’s office is located.

The Opposition Leader used the NDP sponsored New Times programme on NICE Radio, yesterday, to appeal to all organizations in St.Vincent and the Grenadines “to look carefully at the steps that have been taken by the Government.”

He said the NDP will also be making a request to businesses to close.

“We are going to ask them, we are going to write them, we are going to talk to them. We are going to ask businesses to close, next Tuesday.

“We are going to ask people to leave their children at home that day and we’ll be taking whatever action necessary within the law to ensure we get a massive turnout outside the Parliament.”
