Leo Club hosts Literacy Finals

The Leo Club St. Vincent culminated its 12th Annual Primary Schools’ Literacy Competition at the Finals held last Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Frenches House.{{more}}

Lynallia Isaacs of the Buccament Government School emerged the overall winner, with Tracy Robinson from the Richland Park Government School placing second and Krenice Jocelyn of the Kingstown Preparatory School third.

In the category Best Read Prepared Passage, Richland Park Government was adjudged the winner, with Kingstown Preparatory School winning in the category for Best Written Prepared Passage.

In the Spontaneous Passage segment, Buccament Government School was awarded the prize for Best Read Spontaneous Passage, and the Kingstown Preparatory School received the trophy for Best Answered Questions.

The other participants in this year’s competition were Lashanna Mapp of the Calder Primary School, Ronnicia Johnson, Chateaubelair Methodist School, Tyra Browne, Clare Valley Government School, Weneisha James representing Park Hill Government School, and Tecia Gardener of the Sion Hill Government School.

The Leo Club St. Vincent received sponsorship for the competition this year from FirstCaribbean International Bank, Central Water Sewerage Authority and Mountain Top Springs Ltd.
