The statutory body, which has been busy over the past weeks cleaning up in the aftermath of Hurricane Tomas, will spend the next three to four weeks, as well as $1.6 million, on roads in various communities around St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

A press release from BRAGSA, stated that the project is expected to employ over 3,000 persons including gangs, jobbers and truckers.

The release appealed to persons whose properties border main roads and passageways, to cooperate with the Authority by trimming hedges and clearing overhanging branches, which obstruct pedestrian and vehicular traffic, and may block drains and watercourses.

BRAGSA commenced operations in October 2009, and has been involved in ongoing road cleaning and drainage maintenance.

Last year the organization started its Christmas road cleaning programme on November 23.

During the campaign, motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution.
