Tomas struck St. Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday, October 30, and since then, the telecommunications company has been doing its part to help needy Vincentians.

On Wednesday, November 3, Digicel’s Country Manager Sonia Polius, Marketing Executive Justin John and Channel Manager Gershom Dick travelled to Sandy Bay where they handed over a quantity of much needed supplies to Shelter Manager at the Sandy Bay Government School, St. Elbert Walters. On the following day, Thursday, November 4, Marketing Manager Juno DeRoche, Marketing Executive Justin John, Dealer Accounts Manager Fanta Williams and a number of other Digicel Employees journeyed again to the Windward side of the island, this time making stops in Chester Cottage, Langley Park and Tourama.

Among the things handed over by the Digicel team on Thursday were bottled water, water containers and a number of canned food items. The team also distributed hundreds of EC$10 prepaid phone cards.

Digicel has also partnered with Courts St. Vincent Limited, where both companies are encouraging persons to make donations of whatever they are able to spare. The items collected will be distributed through the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO).

Marketing Manager DeRoche said that Digicel is committed to the rebuilding of the country in this time of need.
