SVG Medical Association holds Career Day Exhibition

Representatives from more than 15 institutions took to the Methodist Church Hall in Kingstown last week, to showcase their learning and career opportunities.{{more}}

The two-day exhibition, which also featured a series of lectures by some of the participating groups, was organized by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Medical Association in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, as part of the association’s week of activities, and got started on Wednesday October 13.

The exhibition included booths from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Nursing Division, Ministry of Tourism, Seneca College, St. Georges University, the University College of the Caribbean, the University of the West Indies Open campus, among others.

According to a spokesperson of the association, the annual event is organized to showcase to students, the wide variety of careers in the medical field and otherwise, as well as the learning institutions with the subject areas that can help them along the way.

Students from a number of secondary schools, along with others from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College and members of the general public wishing to further their education, asked questions of the representatives, many of whom flew in from the various institutions for the exhibition.

Question and answer sessions were also held during the lecture periods which took place on the ground floor of the hall.

The career day exhibition made up a part of the Association’s week of activities, which also included the cancer awareness walk, which took place on Friday, October 15.(JJ)
