The rain interruptions did not dampen the moods of the senior citizens who packed the Michael Findlay and PH Veira pavilions at the Arnos Vale Playing field last Friday, October 1.

The pensioners, from as far as Fancy on the Windward end and Chateaubelair on the Leeward end of the island, were treated to drinks and snacks and live entertainment, which included a praise and worship session which was well received by the seniors, who made the most of their outing.

During the festivities, addresses were delivered by Executive Director of the NIS Reginald Thomas, Chairman of the NIS board Lennox Bowman and Rosita Snagg, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social Development.

Several of the senior citizens were also recognized for their contributions to nation building as well as their communities by the NIS.

The participants were zoned in seven groups, each co-sponsored by The CMMB, National Commercial Bank, St. Vincent and the Grenadines Electricity Services (VINLEC), St. Vincent Brewery Ltd, LIME, Government Employees Cooperative Credit Union (GECCU), Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), National Lotteries Authority, Carnival Development Corporation, Courts and The Embassy of the Republic of China/Taiwan.(JJ)
