Last Thursday, September 23, president of the club Francois Truchot, accompanied by Lisa Casino, the club’s vocational services chairperson, presented the drugs to Hospital Administrator Cuthbert Knights, at the Public Health building in Kingstown.

Truchot, while handing over the drugs, indicated that the stock was sent from New York, through Vincentian doctor Shelly-Ann Samuel.

He informed the hospital officials present that the drugs, which filled a large barrel and included nasal sprays, proton pump inhibitors and anti hypertensive medication, was possibly the first of many to come.

Truchot indicated that the possibility of procuring more drugs as well as equipment for the hospital is being worked out.

Knights, in accepting the drugs, said that the medication, which complements stock already purchased, will come in handy, and expressed appreciation for the donation.

He said that he looked forward to working with the Rotary Club in obtaining more drugs and equipment for the hospital.

Also present at the handover were Assistant Hospital Administrator Donna Bascombe, Medical Director Simone Keizer-Beache and Medical Stores Manager/ Senior Pharmacist Levi Walker.

Meanwhile, the club is scheduled to hold its next Rotary Village Doctor programme in early November, and will host West Indian comedian Learie Joseph on October 10. (JJ)
