At the beginning of this new school year, Daniel, a Mathematics teacher, was transferred to the Georgetown Secondary School from the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.

At a New Democratic Party political meeting last Friday, September 10, at Enhams, he spoke of his removal from the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.

He stated at that meeting that should any attempt be made to have him relocated that he was not going to be moved.

“When I said that I will not be moved, I did not mean that I will not move from institution to institution,” he told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday.

“The comment was not made in relation to being moved, but rather to my integrity,” he said, adding that most of the time, the action was used as a tactic to put pressure on an individual.

Daniel confirmed that he did receive a call last Friday (September 10) saying that he was going to be reassigned to the George Stephens Secondary School.

He told SEARCHLIGHT that he then requested that official correspondence be sent before he took up his new assignment.

Daniel said that he had since contacted the Ministry of Education and received confirmation that all the relevant information had since been sent to Service Commissions Department and it was only a matter of time before he would have the official notice. (DD)
