Soroptimists lend a hand to Helping Hands Centre

The Helping Hands Centre is the beneficiary of the first donation made by Soroptimist International SVG for the period May 2010-April 2011.{{more}}

President Christine Da Silva-Da Rosa presented two cheques to Junior Bacchus, President of the Helping Hands Centre Management Committee on Tuesday, June 8, 2010.

A cheque for $1500 was provided for the general upkeep and maintenance of the school, as well as the school bus which transports the children, while another cheque valued at $600 was granted to fund the day to day petty cash.

These donations were from the proceeds of the annual Cocktails and Carols in December.

SISVG in a statement expressed thanks to their many friends and supporters upon whom the success of the organization’s activities depend heavily upon.

SISVG encouraged its supporters to continue assisting the organization because the contributions granted allow them to meet its monetary targets for implementing projects in the communities.

The club has many upcoming interesting activities, including another youth camp which will be held during the week of July 19 – 23, 2010. SISVG is also preparing for the Federation Conference to be held in Manchester, England in October 2010.
